Sophia Domagala
(*1981) grew up in Berlin, where she continues to live and work with her family today.
Since 2020, the vertical line has been a central element in Domagala’s artistic practice. She explores its effects across various materials to make perceptual and cognitive processes visible, while also generating emotional and social resonances. Her work combines painting, drawing, photography, collage, and silkscreen printing. Lines and stripes structure her compositions, functioning as filters, grids, contrasts, or disruptions. Repetition is a key principle in her practice, referencing the cyclical nature of life.
Domagala’s works have been exhibited at institutions including the Bonner Kunstverein, the Marburger Kunstverein, Kunstverein Ulm, Haus am Lützowplatz, König Galerie, as well as Mountains Galerie and Stallmann, among others.
